Abstract
AMCIS participants are invited to discuss how recent business and technology trends are creating new requirements for IS leadership competencies. Our focus is on the IS educational offering, ranging from traditional degree programs to microcredentials and certifications. We ask how our evolving IS education helps professionals and executives prepare for leadership positions, and what IS program leaders can do to increase the number of excellent IS leaders. Panelists will address related educational trends such as: ACM-AIS IS2020 curriculum, AACSB MaCuDe report, Canadian BTM initiative, ISACA’s renewal for academic partnerships, new AI-focused executive roles (e.g., OMB Executive Order to hire 100’s of Chief AI Officers throughout federal agencies), and many more. Participants will be invited to propose initiatives for AIS communities to consider, and especially ensure they build upon academic and professional organizations.
