AmCham Kuwait Joins Forces with the Food Export Association of the Midwest and Northeast to Boost Food Trade between the US and Kuwait

October 3rd, 2023 – AmCham Kuwait and the Food Export-Midwest & Food Export-Northeast recently co-hosted a roundtable gathering key figures within the Food sector. The primary objective of this event was to foster connections between these industry leaders and manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors of US food and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG). The occasion served as a testament to the joint endeavors of these organizations in boosting trade prospects between the United States and Kuwait.
One of the pivotal moments of the gathering was the presentation delivered by Ms. Anna Kizirian , a distinguished Middle East Representative from the Food Export-Midwest & Food Export-Northeast . Ms. Anna Kizirian spoke on behalf of six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and elaborated on the myriad collaboration opportunities available with State agricultural Promotional Agencies, particularly in the Midwest and Northeastern United States. She also shed light on their role in assisting domestic entities in becoming "export ready," ensuring that when global entities seek to engage in business with them, they receive guidance on exporting and support in locating importers.
Furthermore, Ms. Anna Kizirian articulated the Food Export's aspiration to bolster the presence of US food products in the Kuwaiti market, aligning perfectly with AmCham Kuwait's mission to promote bilateral trade and enhance relations between both nations. The expansion categories encompassed beverages, frozen ready meals, meat, poultry, and seafood products.
Ms. Anna Kizirian rian highlighted the facilitative role played by entities like AmCham and the Food Export Association, underlining how they streamline business interactions by vetting members and suppliers, facilitating client-supplier meetings, and promoting direct communication. The Food Export Association offers a range of programs for Kuwait, including trade leads, product promotions, virtual opportunities, and access to their food export activity calendar.
Both entities expressed their eagerness to continue supporting Kuwaiti importers seeking to broaden their presence in the US market, reciprocally enhancing opportunities for American exporters.
AmCham Kuwait expressed enthusiasm for this collaboration, recognizing its potential to significantly fortify trade relations between the two nations. Food Export Association of the Midwest USA (Food Export–Midwest) and Food Export USA–Northeast (Food Export–Northeast) are non-profit organizations that assist U.S. companies looking to start or expand export sales. We aim to maximize their success through programs and services in Export Education, Market Entry, and Market Promotion.
We’re composed of agricultural promotion agencies from 13 Midwestern and 10 Northeastern states. Our services are administered through the Market Access Program (MAP) and Agricultural Trade Promotion Program (ATP) funding from the USDA, Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS).
In 2019, more than 1,000 companies participated in over 60 events and activities across the world, which generated upwards of $978M in export sales.
