Five companies were responsible for around 42% of tech layoffs between January 2022 and March 2023. These layoffs had tremendous consequences for those displaced, but they had another unspoken consequence on something less tangible: trust.

This loss in trust means those hunting for their next opportunity are moving away from shiny brand names and more towards lucrative opportunities companies outside the tech sector entirely. Not only does this change the dynamic of the candidate market, but it presents a great opportunity for more traditional companies to bring on extraordinary tech talent.
