Ambush Like A Lion

Ambush Like A Lion

About 9 years ago, my wife Jen and I went on a safari in Kenya. It was one of the best experiences of my life.

If you’ve been to a zoo…it’s nothing like that.

Thousands upon thousands of wildebeest and zebras migrating in the wild is an amazing display of God’s creation in action.

Herds of elephants and giraffes are in the mix.

And the predators follow close behind.

On our first morning drive, we stopped in a clearing next to a wooded area. We were taking pictures of some zebras grazing nearby.

Suddenly, we heard running and commotion in the woods behind us.

A few gazelles sprint out…followed by 3 female lions.

They ran right past the safari truck on either side, but with no success.

No breakfast for them.

And then trotted out 5 little lion cubs following behind.

It was scary and amazing all at the same time.

While they weren’t successful on that try, the pride had babies to feed. They would keep trying until they found success.

We caught up with that same group a day later feasting on a wildebeest.

Sales is something that lots of coaches and consultants think of as a dirty word.

They’d rather the clients just come to them, instead of being on the hunt.

The problem is that you have a family to feed…the little pack of cubs following behind.

(My 7 cubs are always hungry!)

And thankfully we don’t need to ambush prospects to get clients. In fact, that would be bad.

But, we do need to show up consistently. We need a system, not just blind luck.

It doesn’t have to be a chase followed with blood and guts.

We just need to have consistent conversations that lead to people wanting to work with us.

That’s a sales system.

Just like the lions…don't give up until you find success.

And while it’s nowhere near an ambush, my LinkedIn system can bring your pack more meat. Click here for the free video.
