An ambitious vision for investment in Australian chemistry
At Chemistry Australia, we have an enduring goal to promote conditions for growth and investment in the chemistry industry and its supply chains.
We have been working closely with our members to define the policy measures Australia needs to ensure we attract the investment in chemistry necessary to deliver the net zero transition, establish a more circular economy, and maintain our nation's sovereign capability.?
We considered the long-term policy settings required to support competition and growth, along with a workforce with the skills and capability to take advantage of Australia’s many economic opportunities.
Chemistry Australia’s members share an ambitious vision for the future of Australian manufacturing; one that prioritises sustainability, innovation, and resilience.
Unfortunately, soaring energy prices, increasing regulatory burden, and the cost of doing business generally, continue to discourage investment in Australian manufacturing.
And it doesn’t matter if you are a new industry, or a mature industry, the economic conditions in Australia are very challenging.
To maintain and attract strategic chemical investments to Australia, we believe governments must provide an environment of certainty, and overcome issues of scale and geography, by ensuring we have an internationally competitive operating environment.

Sustainability will be a differentiation for any country but will a top talent in Green Chemistry and Digital Chemistry will prefer Australia as a research ground?
