Highlights from Dev.Play Conference 2024
We had another fantastic year at Dev.Play Conference , the Game Development Conference for Eastern Europe! The event was enriching in every way, offering knowledge, connections, and enjoyable experiences.
Our Amber colleagues made significant contributions to the event:

Empowering Change through Play: Arden’s Demostate and Vote It
Introducing an inspiring initiative from our friends at ARDEN: Play for Democracy. The project has culminated in two innovative mobile games designed to ignite active participation and civic engagement among youth.
Developed over 7 months by 16 talented youth from Romania, Demostate and Vote It tackle civic engagement in unique ways — Demostate as a strategy game and Vote It as an RPG.
We invite you to try both games for free and share your feedback with the young developers.

gamescom , the premier meeting point for global entertainment companies and the international gaming community, will hold its Latin America edition this year. This event, a leader in digital gaming culture, promises to be a milestone in the industry.

Expo Cómics Mexicanos: Celebrating National Talent
At the Mexican Comics Exhibition, national talent was celebrated and promoted, guiding new generations through captivating stories, legendary heroes, and dreamlike worlds.
As a sponsor of the event, Amber México contributed to enhancing the visibility and development of national talent in the creative industry.
Additionally, a class on 2D animation for video games was offered to attendees and interested parties, led by Cynthia Valdes , 2D Animator & Post-Producer at Amber Mexico. The class provided an introduction to Spine 2D and post-production techniques.
JAPI: An Interactive Museum Celebrating the Richness of Jalisco
JAPI is the interactive museum of Jalisco, featuring over 90 state-of-the-art attractions that showcase the wealth of one of Mexico's most important states. This project aims to:
? Showcase local cultural richness and traditions.
? Promote environmental awareness and respect for the surroundings.
? Foster innovation and imagination.
? Support integral development and community.
Amber had the opportunity to develop two experiences for this project. One focuses on preserving endemic animal species of Mexico, such as the axolotl. The other highlights the importance of agriculture and the communities dedicated to it, emphasizing a sense of collective well-being.
We are proud to participate in projects like this, supporting the preservation of the cultural identity and richness of the state.
INDUSTRY SNEAK PEEK - JUNE 2024
Generative AI is unlocking new potential for procedural content generation (PCG) in game development. While generative AI methods currently excel at generating text and still 2D images, they are rapidly advancing toward creating realistic environments, 3D models, landscapes, new quests and levels, stunning visual effects, and more.
Though the spotlight often shines on Large Language Models (LLMs), it's crucial to understand that not all generative AI solutions rely on LLMs. Modern PCG utilizes a variety of AI techniques, including deep neural networks and other forms of machine learning. Discover more about it.
Fortnite continues to dominate Newzoo's revenue and user engagement charts for May, maintaining its top position from the previous month. This data comes from the research firm's monthly charts for games across PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch in six markets: the US, UK, Germany, France, Spain, and Italy.
The top five spots on both charts remained unchanged from April, with Fortnite leading the pack, followed by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, 3, and Warzone 2.0, Minecraft, Roblox, and Grand Theft Auto 5. Discover more about it.
Supercell's Squad Busters generated an estimated $1.1 million on its launch day, according to Sensor Tower. As reported by PocketGamer, the game also achieved around 8.8 million downloads on its release date, May 29.
Supercell announced on social media that Squad Busters had reached 40 million pre-registrations at launch.
The multiplayer party action game saw the highest revenue in the United States, followed by Germany and France. The US also led in installs, with Indonesia and Brazil completing the top three. Read more about it.
