6 年Wow, Amazon caught off guard for the Internet traffic!?? Very surprising & wonder if it was a corporate strategy to fake some humanity with its competitors.? WeWork's policy on forcing its social views on its employees though noble I don't agree with it.? Have a great day!? Steve

6 年Regarding "Idea of the Day": 30 years ago my husband Tom began a job as I began med school when our kids were 4, 6 & 9. They moved into a new office & his female boss knew Tom might have an ill child come to the office so she assured there was a space near his office w/a TV just in case. For 27 years I ALWAYS attended Board dinners. I knew all members & top Executives. I was EXPECTED to be there. Then 3 yrs ago a new bully female boss arrived! Suddenly SPOUSES were BANNED from DINNERS, even those of the EXECUTIVES! After considered IMPORTANT & known by everyone, I was BANISHED, unseen after 27 years of attending nearly each board dinner! I couldn't even PAY to attend! I sensed the entire CULTURE of the organization would gradually change from that of a FAMILY to a COLD, DISTANT, UNCARING one & did. I told Tom she's a bully & this is just a stepping stone to elsewhere. I travel w/him to nearly all his meetings just as he travels to mine. I learned finance. He's learned medicine. Nearly every investor knows me & EXPECTS me to be w/ him. We're a TEAM. She was WRONG for this place. It changed from a warm family to a "cold workplace." I was proved right 2 wks ago. She's leaving next month. Next boss will be better & I'LL be at DINNER!

6 年Pastured livestock operations result in topsoil growth, revegetation and a net positive carbon sequestration. The meat also has a healthy balance of omega 3/6 (the imbalance in factory farmed beef is the main cancer concern). Factory livestock and conventional crop production are BOTH environmentally damaging and produce nutritionally inferior food. Meat isn’t the enemy anymore than corn is. Factory farming practices are the problem and many of the arguments made here against beef could also be made against conventionally produced corn, soy and wheat.
