Amazon taking it to the next level.
Yesterday I was out for a client lunch at a hotel and came across this delivery. It was an Amazon delivery (Not UPS, FedEx or USPS) and it was in a custom box. The box was an advertisement for Chevrolet Silverado truck. Graphics on all sides and they were excellent with the truck box breaking through. It made me think here is yet another revenue stream for Amazon to utilize their big data position to sell this type of exceptional advertising. Think about how granular you can get with this level of billboard targeting.
Take a moment to focus on each of the target markets and where one can go. Brand Chevrolet wants to target to a customer who is buying or has been searching for Chevrolet, Ford, Dodge Ram or say they were searching for say Aftermarket Parts, Replacement Parts OEM Parts, auto technology cameras.
Yet they may not have even bought anything like a part, yet their search history shows Amazon that you are a Prime target for an add that would support Chevrolet Silverado – Strongest Most Advanced target marketing. Now take this deeper you’re now a Pavlov dog experiment. Amazon knows when you get your package (nowadays they even take a geo photo of the house or delivery area – did they check to see the cars in the parking spaces).
Do they know you have an older Chevrolet or another brand? You turn on the TV to binge a new Amazon show and the suggestions that come up only have product placements that support say Dodge products. This image is from Brad's Status a new Amazon Original a car scene with prominent placement including interior and exterior in the first 10 min of the episode.
The next day you are searching, and you experience banner ads for Chevrolet Silverado’s everywhere you go. Then you get a targeted mailer from your local Chevrolet dealership about a special sale for Amazon Prime Members… it goes on and on.
I wish I could have seen what was in the box. If they had additional target marketing for Chevrolet or Amazon Car Sales. Where will we go with all off this amazing consumer marketing data. What was once just a brown box discreetly delivered on your doorstep now is a bit more intrusive. UPS, FedEx and the Postman never took a photo of my house and then sold it, and they never wanted to come in my house.
The scary thing about Amazon is they are already in the house… by the way you need more toilet paper that was Charmin - Alexa told me. Have you heard about Amazon Brand - Presto! 176-Sheet Roll Toilet Paper, Ultra-Soft, 48 Count.
Don’t worry you will now that you have read my little post.

6 年And pretty soon Amazon will know that we were thinking about a Ford F150, and show us even more Chevy Silverados to counteract that
