The U.S. Coronavirus Crisis and the Rise of the “Silver-Mettle Leaders”https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08JR5TDQJ,  touts “leaders from the middle” in COVID-19 management

HUNTSVILLE, AL - Amazon.com, Inc., the world’s largest online marketplace, concludes the week of November 22, 2020, by sales-ranking in top 100, The U.S. Coronavirus Crisis and the Rise of the “Silver-Mettle Leaders”: 11 Steps up A SILVERPATH, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08JR5TDQJ written and self-published by Huntsville’s tim allston.

Available currently in both digital and printed formats (soon to be also offered as an audiobook), The U.S. Coronavirus Crisis and the Rise of the “Silver-Mettle Leaders” evidenced that top national leadership’s COVID-19 failures elevated the nation’s second-tier leaders, state governors.

Here Governors Andrew Cuomo (NY), Larry Hogan (MD), Jay Inslee (WA), Gavin Newsom (CA) and Mrs. Gretchen Whitmer (MI) are featured and labeled “silver-mettle” leaders for, in this national pandemic crisis, they:

  1. reported to someone (silver);
  2. carried out their tasks with character, fortitude, and courage (mettle); and
  3. added value in this crisis through their influence and their relationships (leaders).

More importantly, however, President Trump’s constant ridiculing of them pointed to a larger and systemic issue: the overall and historic lack of regard, respect, and affirmation for subordinates, or leaders from the middle.

“All organizations can succeed without top leadership for a short period of time but no organization - be it a family, workplace, social group or worship place, for example - can thrive or even survive without its leaders from the middle or silver-mettle leaders,” wrote allston, who identifies himself as a “lifelong number-two person, personally and professionally.”

Due to its size (105-page paperback, 39-page digital book), Amazon’s sales-ranking placed this book in the One-Hour Politics & Social Sciences Short Reads category.

Amazon also ranked this first book of an upcoming 11-book series in the Christian Church Leadership and One-Hour Religion & Spirituality Short Reads categories, because “I showed how these five governors mimicked the servant leadership style of Jesus Christ in terms of crisis management, consistent teamwork, and grassroots empathy,” added allston, the former public relations director at faith-based Oakwood College/University (1998-2001, 2011-13).

allston credits the book’s Amazon’s Top 100 Paid Best Sellers ranking to both the 26-volunteer Book Launch Team (BLT) and two 5 Star Amazon Reviews.

One of the 5 Star Amazon Reviews stated, “I found this book timely, on point and sociologically, politically and theologically sound,” wrote Mark McCleary, Ph. D., D.Min, Mark McCleary Ministries, Inc. “Very interesting ideation concerning ‘Silver Leaders’. Looking forward to book #2 of 11.”

Book 2, 2020 U.S. Politics and the Rise of the Silver-Mettle Leaders, is slated to be published in December 2020.
