Amazon has “listened to critics” and is raising its minimum wage for British and American workers. From 1 November, Amazon’s 40,000 permanent and temporary UK staff will receive an increase to ￡10.50 an hour in London from ￡8.20, and ￡9.50 across the rest of the country from ￡8. The online retailer has faced intense criticism of its employment practices, including complaints over its warehouse working conditions.
Doing the housework contributes ￡1.24tn to the UK economy, according to the Office for National Statistics. Aimed at demonstrating the hidden boost stay-at-home spouses offer the economy, the research found domestic chores, along with care and travel contribute more in economic terms than the entire non-financial business sector. The value of cleaning the home and mowing the lawn was put at ￡3,037 per person. Feeding the family was ￡2,400, doing the laundry ￡1,355 and caring for children was estimated at ￡5,358.

The share price plummet has wiped more than ￡100m off postal workers’ wealth, just two weeks before employees will be free to sell their shares for the first time without paying income tax.
Ikea has said goodbye to plastic straws in dramatic fashion, by unveiling its last single-use plastic straw in a display at London’s Design Museum. On display until Saturday, Ikea’s Last Straw installation aims “to draw attention to the thousands of everyday changes we can all make to have a big impact on the planet.” Ikea announced in June it will phase out all single-use plastic products by 2020. The Marine Conservation Society estimates the UK uses 8.5bn straws a year.

6 年GAK BISA BUAT KEMAKMURAN KELAR HIDUP MU !!! . Dalam hal mencari kemakmuran ada hukum-hukum nya atau “ law” yang harus di taati. Kelimuan ini tidak pernah berubah sejak ribuan tahun dan masih berlaku hingga saat ini. . Bekerja dan menabung itu harus. Bekerja uang masuk, menabung uang adalah cadangan. “ saving for a rainy day”, di simpan untuk “hari hujan”. . Lalu hukum kemakmuran lainnya, bukan uang masuk yang penting tetapi yang lebih penting lagi adalah uang keluar!!! . Ada pembantu atau sopir ikut seorang tuannya 10 tahun, dikampungnya dia punya rumah dan tidak punya hutang. Tuannya bisa punya rumah gedung besar tapi masih nyicil di bank dan “ punya hutang ” lainnya. . Ketika harus “ di square” atau di lepas mendadak. Asset minus hutang bisa NOL. Sementara supir nya ketika menjual asett 100% menjadi kekayaan absolut. Cash di tangannya. . Lebih kaya supirnya ya? Padahal paling top 5 juta perbulan di ngantongin saat ini. bossnya bisa 50 juta perbulannya. . Apa factor yang paling “ melalai” kan dalam memanfaatkan uang? Ada 2 hal. Pertama masalah “ keluarga” kedua masalah “ gaya hidup”. Keduanya adalah “ cash out” yang returnnya panjang dan belum tentu ke arah yang benar.

6 年So that's the ￡￡￡ value of things that I've done alongside self employment for the past 20 years feeling overworked and underpaid - housework, childcare, laundry, decorating, gardening... I should be a millionaire by now.?
