Amazon Says Third-Party Sellers Drive 60% of eCommerce Sales
Amazon's annual U.S. Small Business Empowerment Report shows that 60% of sales on Amazon's stores come from independent sellers, most of which are SMBs. The report indicates that these sellers sold 4.1 billion products last year, with sellers in rural areas seeing more than 40% year-over-year sales growth.
Amazon To Surpass 40% of US E-Com Sales This Year
Despite competition in grocery from Walmart and home improvement from established retailers, Amazon will account for 40.4% of US retail ecommerce sales or $491.65 billion this year. Over the next two years, Amazon's market share will increase in 8 out of 10 product categories, with only home improvement and auto remaining areas where it lags behind rivals.
