Job Designation: AWS Support Engineer – Data Centre Linux & HW Engineer

Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree

Experience: Freshers / experienced

Skill Set:

• Proficient in Linux/Unix Administration.
• Experience in Server Hardware Troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Network Protocols: TCP/IP, Ethernet, L2/L3 technologies.
• Strong passion for IT infrastructure and hardware.
• Knowledge in Server Booting: POST, BIOS, PXE, Kickstart, GRUB/LILO, RAID.
• Understanding of Network Hardware: Copper and Optical Fiber Cabling, Switches, Routers.
• Excellent Communication Skills.
• Physical capability to lift & rack equipment up to 20kg.
• Willingness to work in confined spaces or at elevated locations following health & safety protocols.
• Availability for 24×7 shift rotation.

Job Description:

As a Data Centre Operations Tech at ADSIPL, you’ll serve as the primary contact for internal (Network Engineers, Systems Engineers, Software Developers, Database Engineers, Technical Operations) and external customers (Hardware Vendors, Contractors, Service Providers).

Expect an environment filled with diverse challenges, ensuring high system reliability, and resolving issues efficiently:

Problem Solving:

• Handle troubleshooting for Systems and Network hardware problems.
• Investigate and resolve Linux server issues.
• Address XEN service virtualization problems.

Technical Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot issues across various platforms, including Systems, Networking, Power/Mechanical.
• Resolve physical layer outages in Systems & Network.
• Address physical power issues in racks.
• Participate in Data Center power & cooling events.

Operations:

• Fulfill 24×7 On-Call duties during shift rotations.
• Configure racks of hosts adhering to internal SLAs.
• Resolve trouble tickets for all devices in the region.
• Act as the Data Center point of contact for High Severity issues.
• Perform physical replacement of server and network device parts.
• Ensure proper rotation of parts & spares.
• Contribute to defining metrics to improve customer uptime.
• Implement Security Best Practices at ADSIPL.
• Engage with third-party vendors & contractors.
• Offer ideas to enhance operational efficiency.

Project Management:

• Contribute to impactful small to mid-scale projects.
• Participate in internal meetings for metric analysis and project updates.
• Be part of building India’s largest Cloud infrastructure.

Mentoring & Hiring:

• Share knowledge and mentor less technical staff on best practices.
• Contribute to ADSIPL’s hiring process and candidate interviews.
