Amazon Fresh - not fresh!
We like Amazon - been a customer for perhaps 19 years now starting with the US site before the launch of Amazon.co.uk in 1998. We use Prime, Pantry, Video and sell our old stuff from time to time on Marketplace.
A couple of days ago, my wife noticed that Fresh was available here in the East End of London. She ordered last night and at 4pm today, the goods arrived. Great so far, particularly as the poor driver has to haul the stuff up three flights of stairs. He even refused any assistance.
But, disappointingly, a number of the items don't meet the 4+ days freshness guarantee for meat and vegetables or the 6+ day guarantee for milk freshness mentioned on the site. That sort of thing happening within a week or so of launch is not good news. Early adopters are always either going to shout the praises or rant about the poor performance. I'm not particularly ranting in this post - rather its disappointment. I'm very surprised that with the branding being "Fresh" - that the freshness guarantee does not seem to be a mantra for everyone in the business including those picking product. There's obviously a problem in the logistics process - training perhaps. How is product that does nto meet the fresh gurantee dates going out the door? One of the products was three days from best before and clearly well past its usable date - green beans.
A few minutes on the phone just now to Amazon and we have got half the original £40 order being refunded to us plus £5 for the aggro. Is this a third party letting them down? Don't know yet but some of the product comes from Morrisons.
Remain or Leave?
We like and trust Amazon and experiences so far are pretty faultless the majority of the time. So, for now, we will probably vote to Remain!

Surprised it hasn't got it bang on first time as Amazon is usually good at every thing it does from a service point of view. As for me - undecided!
