Amazon Enters Pflugerville
Last week Amazon announced plans for their latest fulfillment center to be developed in Pflugerville, TX. Located at the northwest corner of Hwy 130 and Pecan St, the 84 acre site is slated to be completed by July of 2021.
With a footprint of 820,000 SF, the 4 1/2 story project will be an estimated 3.5 Million SF when all is said and done. Amazon has committed to invest $250 million of capital into the project and to bring on at least 1,000 full time employees.
Once delivered, the 1,000 jobs will make Amazon the city's second largest employer behind Pflugerville ISD. With a minimum starting wage of $15 per hour, employees will predominantly be renters, offering a steady supply to local B & C Class apartments in the area.
The booming Austin suburb has seen 47% population growth since 2010, with an estimated population of 71,200 in 2019. The once sleepy town has become one of the nations fastest growing cities and is likely to continue rapid expansion over the course of the next decade.
Nearby Developments: Presidium Group has broken ground on Presidium at The Pecan District. Located at 1809 Social Dr, the multi phase mixed-use development is projected to deliver 862 units by 2025. At 1601 S Heatherwilde Blvd, Austin-based developer Journeyman has begun construction on Palo Alto. The 300 unit multi family project is in pre-lease up with move-ins starting on August 21st.
Should be very exciting moving forward!

4 年Originally presented to have 1,706 parking spaces. With 1,000 employees planned that leaves alot of spaces for robots to park? It is that just outdated parking calculations?
