Amazing Talent Available!

Amazing Talent Available!

Covid has had a massive impact on Uber. Although we did everything we could to forestall layoffs, it became increasingly apparent that the size of our organization no longer matched the size of our business during these city lockdowns of uncertain duration. We recently made the agonizing decision to reduce our workforce by thousands of people. This has been one of the most difficult and painful things I’ve ever been through. It has been heartbreaking to say goodbye to so many amazing people who have been so instrumental in building Uber. But it also means that there is an incredible array of Uber alumni talent on the market right now. So whether you’re in need of agents, team leads, functional experts or seasoned leaders, you have a unique opportunity to hire from a group of experienced, capable and passionate people.

If you’re looking to hire front-line support professionals, our thousands of Community Specialist alums around the world have tremendous experience delighting customs (consumers and businesses), solving tough problems, using empathy to build relationships and consistently going the extra mile to make a difference. If you're a site leader in an industry that is hiring, you will not regret dipping into this talent pool -- and please feel free to DM me if you have any questions about Uber’s impacted sites, roles or areas of focus.

If you’re looking for subject matter experts, functional leaders or management talent, you’ll find Uber alumni some of the best in their fields. They helped build Uber from a tiny Bay Area start-up just a few years ago, into the global brand and powerhouse that it is today. These folks understand scale, hustle, customer obsession and operational excellence. Please DM if you have hiring needs for which an Uber alum would fit the bill.

And finally, if you are one of my LI connections that is also a new Uber alum impacted by our recent actions, I’m so saddened by these events, but I also know that individuals of your capability and character are going to go on to accomplish great things… and I look forward to following the details of this in your updates and posts in the future. We have a variety of resources available to help you, and more on the way. Please remember that you will always be part of the Uber alumni family, and that this will open many doors. Be prepared to walk through them proudly and loudly.
