Intermodalism was birthed over 50 years ago with the hopes of being able to take a shipping container fully loaded and moved with ease from ship, to train, to truck. Shipping containers have many nicknames, cargo containers, freight containers, conex containers, ocean containers, and the funniest I've heard is a sea can. They are made of 14 gauge-corrugated steel with 1 1/8 inch marine grade plywood flooring. Available sizes are 20ft, 40ft, 45ft, 48ft and 53ft. 20ft containers are typically only made standard at 8 1/2ft in height and weighing 5,100 pounds empty. 40ft containers are made both standard at 8 1/2ft in height as well as high cubes which are 9 1/2ft in height and weighing 8,700 pounds empty. 45ft, 48ft, and 53ft are all only made high cube. The most common and easiest to purchase and have delivered to your property are 20ft and 40ft shipping containers. There are a couple hundred thousand shipping containers that come to the US each year and get left here empty. The best company I've found is Container Professionals 855-562-3520 if you are looking to get one or multiple of these containers delivered to your residence or business property.
What I have been seeing a lot of lately are custom homes being made of these shipping containers. Custom container homes are quite amazing being very sturdy, and if set up right hurricane and fire proof. They offer the home to be built in a very short amount of time along with being a lot less expensive; also it's always nice to save a tree or 2 and feels great to use a product that is recyclable and incredibly eco friendly. You will see a new way of making homes in the future and it will be with shipping containers. Container Professionals is the best place for homebuilders to come and have all there container needs met.
Beyond the beautiful custom container homes being built the great thing about shipping containers is that you can let your imagination run wild. I've seen container pools, art studios, man caves, she sheds, mobile fast food, and even underground bunkers. These 20ft and 40ft shipping containers have many uses. What will you do with your shipping container? If you have any questions you should call Container Professionals 855-562-3520 right away and they can help you with all your container needs.
