Amazing Salesforce Winters 23' features are here...

A new Salesforce release is almost here, which means there will be plenty of new features and capabilities to explore.

The release notes for Salesforce Winter '23 are now accessible as well, having just been announced along with the release date, sandbox preview, and pre-release org details.

1. More Object Record Pages Can Be Improved With Dynamic Forms:

Dynamic Forms for standard objects have been on the roadmap for a while and will be available for Accounts, Contacts, Person Accounts, and Opportunities from Winter '23.

It can be found under the Lightning record page of a custom object and select the “Highlights Panel” or the “Record Detail” component. Then you’ll see the option to “Upgrade Now” and can choose between migrating an existing page or starting from scratch.

2. Use Dynamic Related List Filters to Your Advantage:

Lightning pages now include a new element called "Dynamic Related List - Single" thanks to Salesforce dynamic related lists. With the help of this component, you can build unique linked lists that may be filtered to dynamically display only when specific conditions are met.

Go to the Lightning record page you want to alter using navigation. Then you have two choices.

Simply dragging a Dynamic Related List-Single into the canvas will enable you to begin implementing the new feature.

Alternately, you can upgrade an existing "Related List-Single" by selecting it first.

3. Enhancements to Permission Sets:

When creating a field, set field-level security so that it uses permission sets rather than profiles (Beta).

By allowing you to provide field access based on permission sets rather than profiles, Salesforce is demonstrating that these are the best practice options moving forward. In User Management Settings > Field-Level Security for Permission Sets During field creation, this feature must be turned on (Beta).

Manage the Assignments of Permission.

The Permissions Helper has been renamed to User Access and Permissions Assistant with the introduction of this tool. The Salesforce-made app is accessible on the AppExchange. The programme offers a simple wizard to manage permissions as well as tools to analyse and report on permission assignments.

Enable Enhanced UI and Permission Set Expiration (Release Update).

A permission set or permission set group can have an expiration date set. A user may no longer have access to the functionality made available by a permission set or permission set group once the expiration date has passed.

4. Collaborative Forecasts:

You can include or exclude specific opportunity fields from your forecasts by choosing them.

For a more precise forecast, you may now filter your forecasts by custom Opportunity Number, Currency, or Picklist attributes! Until recently, the only fields you could use to filter your forecast were Record Type, standard Number, standard Currency, and standard Picklist.

Work Effortlessly With Salesforce Desktop Site Forecasts' Improved Usability.

I especially appreciate being able to see Quota Attainment% as a progress bar. Users can choose "Show Changes in Last 7 Days" to display relevant data in a single pop-up when they hover over an area.

5. Clone Lightning Apps (Beta):

Now that you can easily copy your favourite applications to make new ones with the Lightning App Builder, admins can save a lot more time!

6. Create Custom Address Fields:

This has been a great enhancement in this release. For many years, there has been a great need for a custom address field that works similarly to the normal address field. Here it is now. The best part is, it is now available.

7. Updates on Flow and Automation:

Flow Elements Can Be Cut and Pasted

You can now use Cut + Paste in place of Copy + Paste to move and rearrange components in Flow. The advantage? There's no need to modify the API name of the newly pasted element or delete the duplicated element.

To paste the element that you cut, hover over where you want to paste it, and then click (2).

Utilize the Formula Builder in the Collection Filter Elements and Flow Resources.

With this modification, you can now utilise Flow's improved formula builder to check formula syntax and catch problems as you go.

In record-triggered flow formulas, use ISCLONE.

The ISCLONE formula function is now supported by record-triggered flows for new and updated records. As a result, you may now recreate any Workflow Rules or Process Builder processes that use ISCLONE in Flow.

Relative Records Can Be Updated Using Record-Triggered Flows.

You now have the option to update records that are connected to the record that causes your flow, which is pretty self-explanatory. You have the option of updating only a few or all connected records.

Set Time Offsets for Scheduled Paths in Months

On record-triggered flows, you may now select an offset duration of "Months" for each scheduled path. Before, you could choose between "Days," "Hours," or "Minutes."

8. Reports and Dashboards:

Custom Report Types can be filtered by Salesforce Fields (Beta)

In a previous release, we were given the option to filter report kinds based on Salesforce objects. We can now locate custom report types that have a particular standard or custom field thanks to the Winter '23 release, which takes this a step further. This feature is currently in beta testing.

Examine the Structure of a Custom Report Type When Creating a Report

You will be able to see the structure of custom report types thanks to this improvement, which displays the connections between linked objects. The join type will also be explained in the tooltip (the blue box), for example. There may or may not be related B records for record A.

9. Updates on Einstein:

Using Einstein's Search for Knowledge, increase agent output

Your service agents can locate pertinent articles more quickly with the use of Einstein Search for Knowledge, which will shorten the time it takes to handle a case. Previously in beta, this functionality is now generally accessible. Setup > Einstein Search > Settings > Einstein Search for Knowledge Improvements must be opened in order to activate it (requires Actionable Instant Results). It is generally available now.

Quickly Solve Cases Using Interactive Einstein Search Solutions (Pilot)

The useful information from a knowledge article will be extracted by Pilot's amusing new feature, Interactive Einstein Search Answers, which will then display three lines that service agents can copy and share.

Update to the Einstein Scoring Model Timing Modified

To enhance performance, lead and opportunity models will be updated once every month. They were previously changed every 10 days.

10. Utilize the "To Do List" to Manage and Organize All of Your Tasks:

Sales users will benefit greatly from the addition of the "To Do List" for firms utilising Sales Engagement in the Enterprise, Performance, and Unlimited versions, which will help them manage To Do tasks.

The "To Do List" presents tasks allocated to them in a single, user-friendly view and can be added to the Utility Bar.
