Amazing How the Words "Responsible" & "Sin" Disappeared from Our Society at the Same Time!

 When is the last time you heard either of these words used in our modern society? They are virtually extinct. Why? Because they go hand in hand. When we ran God out of town sin had to go right along with Him. After all, if we don't acknowledge the existence of the almighty creator we certainly don't have to follow what He says. Besides that we are now highly educated and have things all figured out. We want to enjoy our new found freedoms now that we are no longer held under God's thumbscrew. For those who may not even know what a thumbscrew device is it was used as an ancient form of excruciating torture. A simple device yet it held one totally captive. If you didn't do what you were told the thumbscrew would be tightened down causing extreme discomfort! This is very much how God was and is perceived by the people.

So as we enjoy our unbridled freedoms many either have no clue or are refusing to recognize the level of pain and suffering that we are inflicting on each other and our future generations. This is where being responsible or accountable for our actions had to disappear as well because if we are truly going to enjoy our spoils we cannot be blamed for anything bad that comes as a result. That becomes society’s problem and we look to the government for the solution or maybe put the blame on those evil big businesses or those filthy rich people, or maybe those closed-minded Christians, after all, they are the ones that are making us feel bad about ourselves! The fact is a free society without a moral compass is doomed for failure. The pain, suffering and cost (emotionally as well as economically), of abortion, AIDS, STD’s, broken & dysfunctional families, drug & alcohol abuse, crime at all social levels, violence, child & spouse abuse, children trafficking, and all of the related side effects that are brought on from the mental stress they cause: (depression, physical illnesses, disabilities, drug dependencies, unable to work or hold a job, suicides and on and on).    

What we are missing is the fact that we have a loving creator. He made us in His image, to be a temple shinning His glorious light unto all of His creation! He loves us more than we could ever imagine.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. 

We now live in a fallen world because we chose to reject God from the very beginning. He gave us that power to choose so our love & respect for Him would come from our hearts not from being pre-programmed to do so. Now that we were thrust into a decaying world God still loved us so much that He brought His words to us. Words that for our sake would steer us away from dangers. Loving words that teach us how to treat each other so that we may experience the fullness of life that He describes.

John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

2 Timothy 1:7 For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. 

So we pray for His loving guidance for our lives. We hold up high the name of Jesus as the way we are to live our lives and we boldly declare Him Lord & Savior as He provides us the one and only way to our Father in Heaven. For on our own no matter how much we try our sinful nature will condemn us to the fiery Hell for all eternity. We can celebrate in the hope and promise of our salvation in Jesus Christ. Let's strive each day to be more like Him and we will truly be blessed as a person of Christ, a nation made strong in Christ and a more loving world through Christ.

Remember with God all things are possible so start today by showing His love to everyone around you through the doing of acts of kindness.
