At a recent celebration at the Smith and Associates sales office in St Petersburg, we were able to show out-of-towners on the map all of the exciting and new developments in St Pete. ... Yes St Pete, the 'Sunshine City', home to grandma and retirement is no longer what it used to be. Now 'The Burg', is a true Florida destination complete with luxury Condo high rises, amazing waterfront parks, beautiful beaches and street front cafes that appeals to a very different mature younger crowd.
Although this transformation has not happened over night, Comvest Builders was involved in the latest efforts to renovate the famous downtown landmark Vinoy Hotel which sat vacant during the 1970s up to the 1990s. The project involved restoration to the rooms, the common areas and ballrooms.
This historic landmark blends with amazing the new Beach Drive which resembles a more reserved relaxing version of Miami's South Beach, dotted with restaurants and shopping.
Watching and participating in all of the amazing changes is mind boggling even during the real estate crash. As St. Pete starts a new round of condo development with more and more options are available. Places that once were left for dead, are flourishing like Central Avenue and the new Sundial And finally a new chapter in the St. Petersburg Pier project that stalled with controversy is back on track with the selection of the Pier Park.
At Comvest Builders we have enjoyed participating in and look forward to the construction efforts to make "The Burg" even a better place.
