Amazing Gen Z of BITS Pilani

Amazing Gen Z of BITS Pilani

This era is blessed to have all the three or more generation viz Gen X, Gen Y & Gen Z.  There is so much of cross learning between all these groups and it is a hard fact that only those who learn including from Gen Z, thrive to making correct decisions. In addition, the learning is so immense.  Like many other countries, India has a sizeable population of Gen Z that soon will mature into adulthood and start to make independent decisions, the group is constantly gaining more importance on every angle right from providing information to advice.  I am no different to learn from this Gen Z.  As I thank from the bottom of my heart, by Gen Z, I meant the current students in BITS Pilani across all the three campuses.  This collective group favors convenience among communication channels, making social media the top preference for interactions, to every single query that is raised by either the parent or the prospective students. I am following (rather learning from this group) for the past 2 months now.  Almost all the queries are responded in astonishing time frames with all details.  This amazing group shares the connect points to reach and speak in case of any clarifications and also gladly shares a global perspective which is truly mind blowing. The detail analytics they submit with “Why you should make a specific choice” further makes this group more credible.

It doesn’t stop there.  They are enthusiastic about sharing their personal academic preferences including the projects they have been associated including international assignments.  What I truly appreciate and stands outstandingly different is the sense to outweigh all the possibilities and revert with truly genuine correctness.  Till date, I see this done with utmost care and seamless execution.  There is no fear to reveal, no shame to talk truth, no fake interactions and many more good stuff about them.

The next important and fascinating point is they emphasize the need to avoid the mistakes they made in their academics and choices which they have done.  This is a great trait of building institutional leadership and this is indeed a big takeaway from BITSians.  The manner in which each member were operating with their boundaries was magical. Words of caution were confirming that "We want only right opinions and guidance to be spoken out." This further laid immense trust on BITS. When promises are made on “I will revert with correct data”, it is done without any followup and reminders.  Be it data, statistics, surveys, companies, placements, projects, campus related queries, hostels, travel, admission queries and including all research one may carry out as an alumni of BITS. Truly credible and absolutely stunning guys!

As a HR Professional I am committed to proudly saying this.  These are gems that will emerge as future potential talent - I can imagine how beautiful the future work generation would be positioned to have bright yet humble minds, intellectual yet supportive, direct but resourceful, factual yet caring, direct yet gentle, proud yet accomplished, oh the list keeps going.  Last but not the least like many other parents, I have raised so many questions to you BITSians (in the making) and thank you for becoming my mentor & giving that comfort and in detail clarifying all our doubts with utmost patience and without any wrong promises.  I am sure and confident that like me, there are many other parents who may want to thank this brilliant and intelligent BITSians who have made our interactions very pleasant and a memorable one! Kudos to all of you!

Keep doing your great work and shine as ever.  My heartfelt thanks to all of you.  But for all of you, trust me, this would not have been an easy journey. Truly proud of all of you guys! Keep Rocking BITS Pilani!

Agree with each one of the qualities appreciated here. Just to add a specific instance before deciding on the final choice for my son I went through the freshers guide of the two institutes that we were considering. While the other Institute gave credit to the student editors of the guide in the last pages., BITS guide hand a symbolic hand on its first page & signed off proudly showcasing the international linkages that the Institute had silently setting the brand value.

It means so much for us BITSians when parents appreciate the work done by us to genuinely help aspirants! Future BITSians should take forward this culture of helping each other out and mentor young aspirants!

Thanks a lot Ma'am. It's really good to read such a beautifully explained write up, covering everything you encountered in your 2 month (and definitely further) journey with us. We hope to continue this practice further, and pass on the baton to the coming batches, who shall definitely uphold the BITS Pilani name ??
