AMAZE Awards: Celebrating the Teams that Exemplify Excellence in Spirit and Technology

Last week, we held our quarterly AMAZE Awards.

It is a virtual ceremony where we recognize the amazing data engineers and architects at Egen who embody our core values in their work for our clients.

We had a ton of fun in the live chat, where people were lightly roasted with love and cheered with the intensity rivaling a Quidditch match.

We had over 30 submissions (that's a testament to how talented our group is). Sadly, we had to whittle those 30 entries down to 8 finalists.

The finalists had 5 minutes to recount their stories and show how their work transformed our clients' businesses.

Not only did they talk about the tech strategy behind their incredible successes, but they shared the business logic behind their tech recommendations and incredible tales of collaboration (like coming up with new architecture while working side-by-side with a grocery giant).

The coolest part?

Egen employees listened along (technical and lay alike) and had to choose which team best represented each of our core values—American Idol style— by voting on our phones.

Adaptable

Our ADL/Data team won for the incredible work they did for an international staffing company.

Masterful

Our stream blazers team got the "we're not worthy" treatment for their masterful work with Peapod.

Agility

The Newt team got recognized for their cat-like reflexes and ability to move with the Peapod team. Some thought Newt was short for Newton (others playfully proposed the origin was a salamander ??).

Zestful

The Starks (a nod to the tech wiz Iron Man) clinched the victory for their work with Peapod (yet again). Their infectious energy and enthusiasm were contagious and moved listeners to give them the Big Z.

Entrepreneurial

Last but not least, the Sifter team. Recognized for their pioneering work with a platform that makes shopping by diet and lifestyle a breeze, this Egen team was a true partner to Sifter and helped them tackle opportunities and challenges with a fresh perspective in semi-charted territory.

The 5 winning teams got custom swag, perks, and the sheer satisfaction of knowing their colleagues saw the value of their ideas and the transformation they deliver to our clients and their customers every day.
