AM Infocast - Voice of the Global AM Industry

With the onset of a new decade, we are closer to achieving Industry 4.0 and to be a front runner in doing so, India needs to pioneer one of the main pillars of Industry 4.0 – 3D Printing Technology. To fuel this achievement, we at the Indian 3D Printing Network incorporated AM Chronicle. The idea is to make all content dedicated to Additive Manufacturing available on a single platform including technical content and latest updates. 

In these challenging times where physical B2B events and printed technical information is hard to come by, we have created AM Infocast powered by AM Chronicle. A knowledge sharing initiative to bring to the industry updates, forecasts, news facts directly from the original source in bite size audio and video formats. The first podcast series - The Journal Series was released on 16th June which an extension to the inaugural edition of AM Chronicle Journal.

Episode 1 (16th June) - How & Why to take precautions when 3D Printing Medical supplies to fight COVID-19 with Deelip Menezes (MD, 3D Systems Corporation India)

Episode 1 is about asking the inescapable questions when 3D Printing medical supplies during an emergency situation – questions which are seldom asked. Mr. Deelip Menezes, MD – 3D Systems India addresses these very concerns in this episode.

Episode 2 (23rd June) - Research based game plan to selecting parts for 3D Printing with Dr. Atanu Chaudhuri (Associate Prof., Durham University Business School)

While quick and small short term advantages are easily noteable in one of cases when adopting 3D Printing, the long term advantages are way bigger. And they are achieved by being smart while adopting 3D Printing and through trial and error runs. There is no textbook procedure for adopting 3d printing in the manufacturing process. But with years of experience having worked in the automotive industry, Dr. Atanu Chaudhuri’s published research paper titled “Selecting spare parts for additive manufacturing: A design science approach” sets guidelines on selecting parts for 3D printing, which can be a major help in adopting 3d printing in the long run. Dr. Chaudhuri has written an article on the approach to selecting parts for 3D Printing in our recently inaugurated magazine – The AM Chronicle Journal and our this episode is based on the same.
