Am I hopeful?
Welcome to the latest edition of Tuesday Trio.
This week, we’re asking, “Am I hopeful?”
At I Am Here, we believe that having hope is vital to our mental health and wellbeing. Holding onto hope can mean different things to different people. Hope is individual, and it is personal. Hope allows us to look positively into our future. Hope reduces our feelings of helplessness, and increases our happiness.
How do you feel about hope? How does hope fit into your life?
What are we listening this week?
We are listening to the “Holding on to Hope” podcast, from Lifeline Australia. The podcast features people who have come through dark times by sharing the connection of holding on to hope.
I Am Here likes the message of the podcast. Asking for help can be a difficult thing to do. However, having a platform where people share their experiences can make
the step towards help easier.
The following is a promo clip for the podcast

What are we reading this week?
This is an article from Harvard Health Publishing entitled “Hope: Why it matters.” Its author is Adam P. Stern, MD and Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.
The piece discusses what hope does for us, and how hope can act as a path and a shield for us throughout life.

At I Am Here, we like how Dr. Stern explains the importance of hope in our lives. We liked discovering how having hope can help us navigate and live past the surprises, the tragedies, and the disappointments that life can bring to us.

Did you learn anything from the article? Did the piece speak to you? Do you agree with the benefits of hope that Dr. Stern outlines? As always, we would love to hear from you at I Am Here on our Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or LinkedIn.
What are we reflecting on this week?
“I cannot promise you a life of sunshine;
I cannot promise riches, wealth, or gold;
I cannot promise you an easy pathway
That leads away from change or growing old.
But I can promise all my heart's devotion,
A smile to chase away your tears of sorrow,
A love that's ever true and ever growing,
A hand to hold in yours through each tomorrow.”
–??These I can Promise by Mark Twain
The above reflection is often used as a wedding reading. However, at I Am Here, we think it is a reflection that inspires. It inspires us to give hope to others. It is a reflection that encourages us to mind one other. It is a reflection that gives us hope.
What do you think? Are you feeling hopeful?
