Am Good. Why I'm I Not Getting Writing Gigs?

Am Good. Why I'm I Not Getting Writing Gigs?

If you didn't see anything wrong with the title of this write-up, then that's why you're not getting writing gigs. You're a bad WRITER!

If however, you noticed how terrible the grammar is, then I suggest you take a hike! I can't help you, you're already a Pro (or are you?)

Writing is not easy at all, I mean there's no light way to go about it. The moment you pick up a pen (or open your keyboard), you're about to make an impression that will go a long way to tell who you are and how good you are.

You're not getting your dream writing jobs, because you make basic writing mistakes. Your portfolio is filled with articles and blogs that are loaded with all sorts of grammatical errors and jargon.

Even on LinkedIn, your short posts aren't easy to read. Readers struggle to understand what you're trying to say because of your poor sentence structures.

You're looking sad already? "Deh, you're being mean."

I'm sorry, but it's true!

There are simple ways to become good at writing and consequently land your dream gigs.

Let's jump right to it!

Practice

You don't become good at anything without practicing. Writing is no different. You have to practice daily or at least as often as possible. You don't have to wait to land writing gigs before you write.

Pick topics of choice and just write about them, the more you write the better you become. You'll be able to build proper sentence structures. Read books, blogs and articles about your favorite topics and get a feel of how they are structured.

Make Grammarly Your Friend

Whether you like it or not, you need Grammarly in your life as a writer. Not only will it help you become better at punctuations and grammar, but your word use will also increase tremendously.

Get a Mentor or Writing course.

Whichever one feels more comfortable for you, do it without hesitation. It's your career we are talking about here!

There are so many great writers in your space, who can mentor you (secretly, If you want). You just have to pay keen attention to how they write, their structures, grammar use, basically everything that has to do with writing.

"Oh Deh, but I don't know anyone", really?

Hello? Have you met me?

Well, I guess you don't know anyone!

You can, of course, grab a writing course and get better. Don't tell me you've not heard of LinkedIn Learning. Try and enroll, there are many courses that can help you become way better.

I'll just stop here for now. Trust me, if you follow these steps you will become better at writing and get more writing leads.

This is simply amazing ???????? Very concise too. Thank you for sharing, I'm off to beat my greatest enemy--indiscipline for practice. Ps: I noticed the grammatical error and I almost screamed ?? Like 'is he joking with this newsletter caption or what? ??' Being someone who gets irked by grammatical errors, I'm glad I read through and got VALUE ?? Thank you again for sharing ????
