Visiting Memphis a few weeks ago, I met some wonderful people who work for the Alzheimer's & Dementia Services of Memphis, Inc. A question they asked me was "When is it time to consider an Adult Day Program?"
Here are some questions the ADS organization give and ask:
- Do you worry about your loved one when you're at work?
- Is your loved one lonely during the day?
- Does your loved one seem more confused, even in familiar places or with family?
- Does your loved one leave the house and get lost?
- Does your loved one sit and stare out the window?
- Is your health starting to suffer?
- Could you use help in taking care of your loved one?
There are so many ways a program can help your loved one and you. This type of program can provide quality care, stimulation, dignified assistance, nutritionally balanced meals and snacks, daily exercise to promote health and happiness, friendship, smiles and hugs.
