Always be willing to "Up Your Game".

I have learned to never be afraid to self reflect and self evaluate my business operations, marketing strategies, and myself when conducting business affairs with others. It is important to always be willing to "up your game" as the saying goes. More highly intelligent individuals are not afraid to self critic and ask themselves the question, "How can I do better" going forward and absorb constructive criticism when appropriate.
I'll share some examples of how I recently "upped my game".
(1) When I registered to go to the family office deal flow conference I just came from in London, UK, I determined, I needed to acquire a better tie for the event. While I do have several ties and they would have been all acceptable, I wanted a tie that was similar to what successful tycoons were at these events to "fit better in" as they say. Therefore, I went clothing shopping and got me a new tie.
(2) I also purchased a new convertible belt that can either be brown or black depending on the occasion.
(3) I got a new email address. My new email address is [email protected] . The other email address I had was [email protected] . Both are still in affect but I am migrating over slowly into the new one for the next year. I changed because the new one is a bit shorter to the point and the other one is a little longer.
(4) I also changed the format of my email signature to make it a bit more consistent in communicating back and forth with clients.
In summary, the professionals who are willing to constantly improve themselves maximize their probabilities of success and mitigate failure. Never become stagnate as that leads to loss of growth.
