As always

“Como siempre” (aka, “As always”) are probably the saddest words in Spanish language.

Well… maybe competing with “Pedro Sanchez es presidente” but this is for another day.

During these days you meet many people.

Friends, family, ex-colleagues, ex-girlfriends, etc.

?

And after 12 months without seeing each other, the pattern is too repetitive and too concerning.

?

“How are you doing? How is life?”

“Como siempre”

?

?

Around 365 days have passed, and people cannot tell rapidly about any achievements in the last 12 months or anything remarkable in their lives. These things, even if some great things could have happened, are never in their mind.

?

Please. Please. Don’t be like that.

?

Close your eyes.

?

Think.

?

Think.

?

Try to remember.

?

Get those achievements, even if small wins on top of your mind.

?

This is the mindset that makes you grow.

This is the mindset that makes you successful.

?

Remember that you don’t compete against anybody but your yesterday self. If you have made some progress, you are in the right path.

I don’t say “as always”. F*ck not!

Repeat with me.

“It’s been a great year and I have a few challenging plans and goals for this 2024. It’s going to be great.”

And then, you start naming your achievements.

?

I opened to the traffic my highway project in New Zealand after 5 years of hard work, and I got a great bonus for that.

I closed a refinancing for almost 800 million for that project.

I refinanced my mortgage with great conditions liberating funds and income.

I delivered more than 15 houses in Panama.

I completed 8 flipping projects in Spain.

I made lots of money in between.

I read many books, but 12 were really interesting and made me grow a lot.

I followed, met, discussed with great influencers in business as Matt Gray.

I opened a daily newsletter in 30 days

I created two courses and sold a few units giving me another stream of revenue and good money in USD

I growed my social media base by a few thousand interesting people, including this newsletter

Etc. etc. etc.

I don’t know if these achievements are big or small for you, or if yours are bigger or smaller than mine.

IT DOES NOT MATTER.

I repeat.

The important thing is that you have these achievements on top of your head.

That you celebrate them

That you set targets to make them small this 2024.

?

That’s the key.

?

Then, follow the conversation, engrave it in your mind, what your objectives are for the next 12 months. That’ll make you accountable.
