It's just a recollect about one of my favorite in Ford. Most of it will be already known to everyone, but still, I've tried to make it as a whole picture.
Ford introduced its all-new Expedition with an assist from the Dallas Cowboys in Texas, America’s best-selling full-size SUV market. The vehicle is geared toward “active families” who want smart technology to be able to stay connected while they have their adventures. More than just “active,” these families take their adventures to the “extreme”. The Expedition is part of Ford’s plan to grow its leadership in SUVs with five new SUVs coming to its North American vehicle lineup in the next four years.
Ford introduced the all-new Expedition to be– the smartest, most capable and most adaptable Expedition ever – with technology to keep every passenger connected, more power for drivers, and more expected towing capability than any other full-size SUV.
The Ford Expedition received 5 – Star by the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration). According to Ford, this is the basic credibility of Expedition that makes it popular. This is the overall safety rating for the Ford Expedition. The safety manual of the Expedition includes all the components and equipment required. It has the ample amount of impact airbags, dual stage airbags, and much more. The active safety recipe of the Expedition includes the Control Trac? 4 × 4 System. This helps the Expedition to slip over the slippery surfaces, such as ice and wet roads.
Expedition is Ford’s first vehicle to feature a wireless charging system, which allows customers to place compatible mobile devices on an integrated charging pad located in the front center console. An in-vehicle WiFi hotspot supports as many as 10 devices at once, up to 50 feet away from the vehicle. There is a power source for passengers in every row, with four 12-volt power points, six USB chargers, and a 110-volt power outlet.
The present-day expedition has been refined mechanically. The tuning for the 3.5 L Eco Boost V6 engine has been set for 365 horses @ 420 lb – ft of torque. It is certainly an immense power. The Expedition has been configured as the rear – wheel – drive in a standard. However, the all – wheels – drive configuration is also available. As compared to the previous generations, the present day Expedition can tow almost 500 lbs. of more weight. This is all because of the ultra-tuned engine. Powered by a 3.5-liter Eco Boost engine, the all-new Expedition is the most powerful Expedition ever. Expected best in class towing and available electronic limited-slip differential allow customers to quickly adapt to changing conditions when driving either on- or off-road. More than 50% of Expedition customers value towing, and 15% tow weekly or monthly.
The all-new Expedition offers more than 40 new features and driver-assist technologies – including a 360-degree camera and Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keeping Aid. Expedition is also the first full-size SUV to feature a sliding second-row seat with tip-and-slide functionality. Expedition’s all-new high-strength, aluminum-alloy body, and redesigned high-strength steel frame are the foundation for it's rugged off-road and strong towing capabilities. Using advanced materials saved up to 300 pounds – with much of the savings reinvested to offer customers more technology and features than ever before.
Ford FX4 Distinctions
The FX4 trucks made by Ford have very similar specs to those of the regular 4x4 truck. However, there are some differences. The FX4 comes with an improved suspension, which includes skid plates, stronger Ranchero shocks, and a higher ground clearance, as well as a limited slip rear end. Most FX4 trucks come with automatic 4x4 shifting on the steering column.
