ALWAYS TAKE OPPORTUNITIES

Don't you just love the word Opportunity? Yes, I think we all love that word. It is a word that inspires hope and belief, as well as something we can wish upon to make our lives complete. It could be a simple event that will smash into us. It might be the light bulb coming on. It might enlighten us and delight us. It might be what we as will help us live happily ever after.

STOP because that is, unfortunately, not the case for most of us.

 Let's talk about "What real opportunities are"

Yes, what are real opportunities?

Opportunities are what come to you unexpectedly. They are not what you expecting. They come in all manner of shapes, sizes and experiences.

So, what do we do when opportunities are presented to us:

Unfortunately, often the person who presents the opportunity presents it in such a way that leaves you shaking your head and saying hey that is not for me. Have you ever consciously thought about how you treat those people that present the opportunity or the opportunity itself. I know I have done it - with disdain and a bad attitude. So it is fair to say that our attitude when an opportunity presents itself determines whether that opportunity will make our lives better or not.

Yes, your attitude will certainly dictate if it is YES or NO with regard to your future.

 So time to do your self-checking in. "How many times have you been offered a new opportunity? How many times have you said no? Probably more times than you have ever said yes - let's give it a go. I am delighted to say I am an exception to that rule I have said yes let's do it so much more than saying no. I have a blog coming on saying no but this is about taking opportunities.

 NOW that is an idea!

There are opportunities presented to us on many occasions. The opportunity to experience something new, something different, something more, something that takes you outside your comfort zone. Yes, opportunities are always coming our way. 

So the question is "Wouldn’t you like to experience more?" "Wouldn't you like to earn more money?" or perhaps "Simply be happier?" I know we all want it but are we ready to take that risk and step outside our comfort zones. Sometimes that comfort zone is strong that we haven’t even thought about doing something until someone or something prompts us. "Now that is an idea!" "Now, that is an opportunity".

That idea or opportunity prompts us to look at where we are and evaluate where we want to be in our future. We are all different and sometimes it can take months to gather the courage to go for it and step outside that comfort zone, sometimes it is only a matter of seconds and we say let's do it. That is me in a few seconds I know what is right; my husband will spend a month thinking about it before he may or may not take the opportunity.

Let's take a chance

I would encourage you to say YES when there are opportunities presented to you. I am a great believer that we are presented with opportunities when the time is right for us to move out of the comfort zone. You can trust your gut! You can be sure that deep feeling in your gut will take you down the path that is right for you and your life path.

I know taking opportunities can be scary and they can be a stretch but you and I both know you can stay in that comfort zone or you can step outside and experience life at a fuller and more mind-blowing level.

You can "Stop and Think"

The next time someone offers you an opportunity - if you normally say no - instead of say YES thank you. You no longer need to be stuck in your life. Go out and learn, enjoy, experience and have the life you were meant to have.

My own experiences

My saw the opportunity to do an Outward Bound course - enrolled and paid for it. Life changing.

I moved away from secure paid employment to be a coach and work with people in their business. I was successful.

Three people in a short space of time told me I would be a great Celebrant - that led to a 20-year career.

The list goes on.
