Always A Student

Always A Student

?I remember seeing a gentleman well into his 80s at a bookstore reading about personal development. While I didn’t know him very well, we did have a bunch of conversations in the past. What I was most impressed with, is that he still had an interest in learning and growing even while he was in his 80’s. There is this saying we often use when we are coaching clients. If we’re not growing, we are dying. Just as a tree will continue to grow taller and taller, once the same tree stops growing, it will start to decay and eventually recycle back into the earth. Are we any different?

The point is that no matter what stage you are in, please be sure you are learning something, or reflecting on what you learned. For example, reading a book for your personal development is a sure way to grow. Also, if an occurrence happens in your life, and you take the time to reflect on what you learned, that is growing.?

Most important is knowing that for us to continue to thrive, we have to strive, and continue to nurture our minds, bodies, and spirit. I believe the only way to do that, is to keep learning.?

Happy living!
