Always Stay Humble and KIND!

Earlier this week I stopped with my wife at a store one evening to get a few items.? The self-checkout line was long, so we walked down the row of registers to find one attendant finishing up with checking out a customer.? As we put the items on the conveyor the attendant proceeded to put the items in different bags and engaged in what most would simply say as “customer service.”? She placed fragile items in a bag and asked my wife if she wanted a smaller item in a smaller bag. While I was paying for our purchase, the conversation went on to how old our children were and wrapped up with our three kids could not be in college.? She said we looked too young to have three in college, and that she thought our children might be in high school.? We thanked her for her KIND words and as we walked to our car, my wife made a simple statement. She said that was very KIND of her.?? I could tell her energy level picked up.? She is a Pre-k assistant and she had had a long day with her larger class, and she was tired. Those few sentences and act of KINDness impacted the rest of her evening.? It cost the attendant nothing, yet the yield was large.? Acts of being KIND to others change things.? Would you agree?? KIND of?

Keep the momentum moving.? Are you a KIND person?? Why would you say “yes” or “no?”? Do you keep the positive KIND momentum moving forward?? How do you rate yourself on a 1-10 with ten being the highest?? Being KIND can be many things and may be viewed differently by others based on your filters, perspectives, or life experiences.? Do you look for opportunities to help others or speak positivity into their lives?? How you view the KINDness of others around you can impact your view of the momentum.? If you are surrounded by negativity, it may be difficult to find the strength to be KIND.? Sometimes, we have to look for opportunities and be intentional.? A positive statement to uplift someone around you may be way more impactful than you think.? You also never know what a KIND word to someone will to in order to impact those that they might be KIND to.? Keep it moving and pass it on!

Impact????????????????

Impact can be viewed as an impression or effect on someone or something around you.? When was the last time that someone said something KIND to you, and you immediately felt the impact?? How did it change your mood?? Did it energize you?? Did you offer appreciation back to them for their act?? The snowball effect often takes place and we don’t even know it or see the end impact to those down the line.? A small KIND word or act to or for someone can empower that person to be kind to another, then another, then so on to where you will never know the end results or impact to those you will never meet. Who comes to mind?? Who comes to mind when you think of someone who is KIND and has made an impact on your life?? Today would be a great day to call them, send an email, text, or a handwritten note to tell them how their kindness has influenced ?or impacted you.? You never know what your act of KINDness will have on them too!?

It costs nothing to be KIND to others. KIND words are free.? It may cost you some time to help others in need, or to simply do something for someone else, however the reward is huge!? When was the last time you volunteered?? How about the last time you donated to a cause?? This time of year, there are many organizations that can use some extra help.? There are also many organizations helping those in need who could use a monetary donation or gift donation to spread KINDness.? ??How much does it cost to open a door or hold a door for someone?? How much to offer some appreciation for their service to a Veteran wearing a hat or a public servant out in public?? How much does a smile cost to someone who may be having a bad day?? How much does a text cost to check on someone you know might be goi through a hard time in their life?? Nothing, it costs nothing.? I think we can all afford doing KINDness more.

Don’t stop!? Keep it going!? Look for opportunities to pour into the lives of others.? It may be as simple as saying “please” and “thank you.”? Others around you will see it and more than likely they will respond accordingly.? This is not a Ponzi scheme.? I am not asking for money, just asking for us all to be KIND.? Do your part! Don’t forget about being KIND to yourself too.? Give yourself time to refresh and recharge your batteries.? If you are struggling to get through your day, take some time for yourself.? Do it!? It is that important.? Do KINDness more!

When you hear the word KIND, what or who comes to mind?? It does not cost us anything to be KIND, and the reward is huge. Regardless of your position, role, or title, KINDness matters.? It has often been said that people may not remember your name or title, however they will remember how you made them feel.? Every day we have opportunities to be KIND.? We just have to act on them.? We can be that light in the darkness, and be the light at the end of the tunnel for others.? We have to keep the momentum moving forward.? We may never know the extent or impact of those around us, or down the line, however that does not mean we stop being kind.? It costs nothing to be kind, so don’t stop being KIND.? We don’t do what we do for a reward, we do it just because.? Tim McGraw has a song, and it ends like this, “Help the next one in line.? Always stay humble and KIND!”? Now go be KIND!
