A woman in Pune converted her ancestral house of 10 -1 2 large rooms into a paying guest accommodation where in each room has 3 beds. Many working professionals and students live here as paying guests. She also serves delicious food, which is loved by everyone.
But this woman has a strange rule. She offers meals only for 28 days in a month. All her paying guests have to eat out for the remaining 2-3 days as cooking is not allowed in the kitchen either. I was curious to know the logic behind this and asked the lady “Why is your kitchen open only for 28 days?” She replied “We only charge for food for 28 days, so the kitchen runs only on those days.” “Why don’t you change this strange rule?” I asked. “No, rules are rules!” she quipped. I was not convinced with her answer and knew there was more to this than meets the eye so I questioned her further. She finally spoke her mind and said “Initially there was no such rule. I used to cook and feed my guests everyday with love but their complaints never stopped. They would always find some fault or the other but after I made this rule they understood my value and now the 28 days that I serve food, they do not complain and enjoy the meals that are served to them.”
Too much comfort makes a person ungrateful and dissatisfied.
Similar is the situation with some of the citizens living in our country, who find faults in almost everything. If these people spend a considerable amount of time in other countries, will they realize the importance of what our country has to offer.
Always be grateful and have a positive outlook towards life.
