Always Get Travel Insurance!

Though not the sexiest of topics, one would want to read nor hear about. It remains the most important fact to consider when planning your trip.

I've been reading about people losing their belongings at airports due to theft, natural disasters, bomb threats happening in touristy centres in France, to Germany potentially expecting more rail strikes...the list of all these mishaps will go on.

So why travel insurance?

Well travel insurance is there to not only cover your lost items, flight delays, medical evacuations, it's there to also cover anything that potentially disrupts your trip and that includes any accommodations you may need or have had to spend on due to expected/ not expected disasters

We tend to only get exited about the flight tickets and accommodation when we travel, but I think we need to adopt a new attitude when it comes to travel insurance, and that is the attitude of embracing it as the most important part of your vacation!

For our travel planners we use Bryte Insurance Company Limited Hollard Insurance Travel Insurance Consultants (Pty) Ltd for South African travellers and we have Allianz Travel Mx for our international travellers.

My recommendation is to get travel insurance, whether or not you are travelling with a passport that needs a visa. Just think of it as a safety cushion to support you when you fall!
