ALWAYS DOUBLE CHECK YOUR GPS.
Saturday Fun Story of my best Road trip. ALWAYS DOUBLE CHECK YOUR GPS.
One fine diwali vacation, me & my brothers took a roadtrip from Pune to Varanasi covering a stretch of 1700 Kms (One way) by car.
Post having a heavy freaking breakfast at Indore we decided to take a night halt at Jabalpur.
Highly relying on our GPS through out the entire journey unaware of the fact there awaits a screw up ahead.
The embedded technology in a GPS would always show us the shortest or the least crowded road.
So it directed us towards a road which apparently had no road. It was a barren land filled with stones, no sign of human habitation for miles, no vegetation, just vast plain lands of dryness.
Frustration took over excitement because we could barely drive beyond 3rd gear, not to mention all the swamps and rocky patches on the road. Probably for the first time through out the drive, the boys were willingly giving the steering wheel to another haha.. The sun was setting down but our impatience was rising up to reach a fine drivable road. Like the thirst of an oasis amidst a desert. It was genuinely agitating. We couldn’t find a hotel, nor a mechanic, nor a tea stall, nothing.
Thankfully after covering a few miles through all that, we entered a small village. A cloud of relief & hope to all the poor souls inside the car. We were certain the road ahead would get better and got some necessities for the journey.
Before embarking forward we asked a native “Aur kitna dur hai, achi sadak ane ke liye?”
His reply was like the appearance of a Grimreaper, “Abhi to bht dur aisa hi kharab rasta hai.”
Haha... tell us about about your horrible experience with GPS.
