NOT ALWAYS ALL ABOUT THE BUSINESS; HAVE YOU HAD A VACATION? – MY WEEKLY PERSPECTIVE

Having a family vacation is a rare opportunity and luxury with our full lives. Where we go or what we do does not matter as much. What matters are the benefits of a vacation, which include:
– 24/7 quality time together
– time for reflection away from work
- an opportunity to have open ended conversations
– shared experiences and memories, including meals, sitting down together
– time together for the family bonds to improve and strengthen
In the workaday world of business and family enterprise, we often do not take the time away from our daily work obligations to simply reflect. And be thankful. I certainly am thankful.
Sometimes the focus on the family can be overlooked. Being in a different environment from the daily routine allows one to have a different perspective; to possibly assess life differently.

Sharing experiences is what makes memories. The place where you go on vacation often is less important than simply doing something together. It could be fishing, camping, exotic destination, sightseeing or a staycation. Doing these activities so that you can share common experiences and memories is what makes a family history and the history and? memories, especially after someone is no longer with us, is what we cherish.?
Being together will allow you to have time for deeper conversations, thereby bonding at deeper levels.
Time together for the family to strengthen family bonds. Family are the often the people, with strength and caring, who will support you when you need it.
So as we embark on brighter and warmer and dryer spring and summer days (at least here in Vancouver Canada), I hope you had and have the opportunity to spend time with your family.
Think about the plan for the next family vacation.
