We wanted to share some updates on events, projects, and news from around the world with you. ?

Carlo Ratti, the curator of the 19th International Architecture Exhibition, along with Pietrangelo Buttafuoco, the president of La Biennale di Venezia, have announced the title and theme of the 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale .

Clerkenwell Design Week is scheduled to take place in London from May 21 to May 23, 2024. There will be nearly 600 carefully selected events happening around the EC1 neighborhood in East Central London.

Barbican Centre in London now features a new artwork called "The Purple Hibiscus ," by Ibrahim Mahama. This unique work uses approximately 2,000 square meters of bespoke woven cloth to wrap the iconic grey walls of the Barbican.

The construction of the new Aquatics Centre , designed by VenhoevenCS and Ateliers 2/3/4, has been completed. This Centre features an undulating timber appearance and will be debuting in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Today, there is a workshop called "Integr8.AEC: Facades - Algorithmic Data Management ," which aims to teach participants about designing functional facades. It is important to consider building codes while using parametric modelling and respecting these limitations. ??

Remembering Alvar Aalto and his influence on architecture

Alvar Aalto, born on 3 February 1898 in Finland and passed away on 11 May 1976, is a Finnish architect who graduated from the Helsinki University of Technology with an architecture degree. It is approximately 6,000 square meters in size and has an athletic complex with a gym, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, and commercial spaces.

The Purple Hibiscus, a new artwork by Ibrahim Mahama, envelopes the iconic Barbican Center’s concrete walls. The distinctive work uses approximately 2,000 square meters of bespoke woven cloth to wrap the iconic gray walls of the Barbican.
