Alumni Spotlight: Aidon Perlinger

Meet one of our AGS alumni members, Aidon Perlinger !?

What do you currently do for work??

I work in the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Office of Admissions as an Event Specialist to bring future Huskers to Lincoln!??

Why did you choose AGS??

I chose AGS due to connections I had with some members I knew before college and stayed because of the quality of character I found within the chapter. It meant very much to me to be a part of an organization that not only allowed me to grow as a man, but also gave me the opportunity to bring the best out of others.?

Did you have any officer positions during your time??

While in the house I served as the Public Relations Chair as well as the chapter DEI Director.??

What were some of the highlights of your time in AGS??

While there are too many highlights to count from my time in AGS, going through the new member education process my freshman year always sticks out to me. I cherished learning what it meant to be an AGS man with everyone in my class and am excited for those getting to take part in the new ASPIRE program.?

What impacts did being in the fraternity have on your personal and professional development??

Being in a fraternity taught me how to connect with others and gave me opportunities to expand my professional network within the chapter and out. Even today I tell prospective students that getting connected and forming relationships is more important now than ever, and AGS was a pivotal part of that for me.?

What was your favorite fraternity event and why??

My favorite fraternity event has to be our first annual Big Red Tailgate. Getting to welcome alumni to the new chapter house after all of the time and effort volunteered by both active members and alumni was really special.?

Reflecting back, how did the fraternity mold you into the man you are today??

There aren't enough words to describe how impactful being in AGS was in making me who I am today. I learned a lot about my values during my time in the house, and how I can use them to help others today.??

What advice would you give to current fraternity members??

My advice is pretty simple: take accountability for all you do, have empathy for others, and seize opportunities when they present themselves.?
