AlumGrow Insights Newsletter - September 2024

You might be wondering why there’s a photo of baby hands in this newsletter. As I eagerly await the arrival of a new little member to the AlumGrow family—any day now!—I’ve been reflecting a lot on the incredible journey of growth and transformation that life brings. This upcoming addition to our family has had me also thinking about the dynamic changes driving our work in advancement (along with, of course, the quickest routes to our local maternity ward).

Just as we embrace new challenges and growth opportunities in our personal lives, the advancement profession demands that we continually adapt and innovate. So, to help you and your team navigate these evolving demands, here are some key steps to consider for strategically driving your approach to change and challenge:

  • Re-evaluate Your Goals: Regularly review and update your advancement goals to ensure they align with current priorities and emerging opportunities.
  • Foster Team Collaboration: Encourage open communication and teamwork to tackle challenges creatively and effectively.
  • Invest in Professional Development: Support continuous learning and skill development for your team to stay ahead of industry trends.
  • Embrace New Technologies: Integrate new tools and technologies to streamline processes and enhance your advancement efforts.
  • Gather and Act on Feedback: Seek insights from stakeholders, including donors and alumni, to refine your strategies and address their needs.

I hope this month’s issue of AlumGrow Insights challenges you to reassess your strategies and inspires you to embrace new possibilities in your advancement journey.

Thank you for being part of the AlumGrow community, and enjoy the read!

Keeping Long-Term Enrolment Applicants Engaged

To boost enrolment growth and keep prospects engaged, implement a strategic long-term engagement plan for applicant families who apply years in advance to your school. Regularly update them with tailored content, exclusive event invitations, and personalised communications to maintain their interest and commitment. This approach not only strengthens their connection to your institution but also increases the likelihood of their enrolment when the time comes.
