Long term Alberta cannot be confident in a route through B.Con. with the opposition seen and with the lack of support of the Federal government. In 2013 and 2014 a lot of work was being done in looking at northern routes. Maybe we should re-investigate these. Manitoba wants to revitalize Port Churchill and Alberta needs another way to access markets without being blackmailed by the province of British Columbia. Why not work with Saskatchewan and Manitoba to see if it feasible. The technology was almost there in the 80's. We should be able to safely and easily construct the line and deliver to Europe and Asia. If it was to be built, ALberta would also have the ability to totally turn the taps off for B.C., so that they can live without the hydrocarbons they so like to hate.

6 年So instead of tankers out of Churchhill -Could a line be run from Chesterfield Inlet - Nunavut Undersea to Shouthampton Island, undersea to Baffin islabd then over to the northern tip of NFL at Killing Island and then down to Mary's Harbour? I know this is a round about way but may allow constant operation.

6 年The MacKenzie valley route through the Beaufort is a lot shorter to the Asian market than the Hudson Bay route. Natural gas from the delta is also closer to the Asian market than gas from the Yamal peninsula in Russia.
