ロック界の大御所、
「ザ?ローリングストーンズ」のギター＆コーラス、
「キース?リチャーズ」がTVのインタビューに答えていた。
リゾートらしき白い砂浜で、真っ青な海を背景に、
椅子に座ってのリラックスした雰囲気だった。
※ 今おぼろげな記憶で雰囲気だけは覚えているが、
? ? youtube 等にもアップされている様子がない。
? ? 幻だったのかな???
インタビュアーが、
「墓石には何と書かれたいですか？」
と聞いていた。
（スゲー、私がどんなに有名なアナウンサーでも、生前の美空ひばりに
「戒名は何が良いですか？」なんて口が裂けても聞けねぇ。）
キースは答えて、
「『彼は伝えていった』と書かれたいね。」
若干二十歳の私には、
「何言っとるの？このおっさん。」
としか思えなかった。
只、重鎮の言う事なので、頭の片隅には残っていた。
あれから２０余年、いろいろ経験してくると、
事ある毎に彼の言葉が大きくのしかかってくる。 ?
嗚呼、彼は
「何億年と続いてきた生命の歴史、
そしてこれから未来永劫続いていくであろう人類の歴史に於いて、
自分は一瞬の存在でしかないけれど、
ロックンロールというものを先人から引継ぎ、
そして後世に伝えていった、その功績は大きい、と書かれたい。」
という事を言いたかったのだ。
そう思うようになった。
軽いノリで聞いていた
「ジャンピングジャックフラッシュ」が、
「タイムイズオンマイサイド」が、
「スタートミーアップ」が、
そして 「アンジー」が、
今は心にズシリと響いてくる???
