Already fireworks in 2023!

Here we go, 2023! Welcome Aurora Labs’ Community to our Winter Newsletter. Winter conjures up images of snowflakes and cold temperatures (in many regions). For us at Aurora Labs, winter has already proven to be very hot! Although we are only six weeks into the year, we have already had two major announcements – one with Infineon and one with NTT Data.

We had a hugely successful CES, meeting with over 40 automotive customers and partners to collaborate on a growing number of use cases to drive efficiencies throughout the software lifecycle with our AI-based LOCI (Line-of-Code Intelligence) Platform. 

Below are recent company highlights. Of particular interest are the details of our partnerships with Infineon and NTT and the value they bring to the industry, the results of the Automotive Software Survey, which we publish every year in conjunction with Strategy Analytics, and recent industry recognition in the form of awards and media coverage showing global support of the importance and need for AI-based, intelligent solutions for the automotive industry.

Aurora Labs and Infineon

At CES, Infineon and Aurora Labs demonstrated AI-driven on-board software behavior deviation detection and secure and fully redundant OTA updates with zero downtime. OTA updates are already an essential requirement for today’s software-defined vehicle, where most car features are implemented through software. As cars become more complex and the pressure to bring features to market more frequent, the number of updates per year will increase drastically, and the need for ongoing quality and functional safety will grow in importance.

Aurora Labs and NTT

In mid-January, NTT DATA and Aurora Labs announced global strategic cooperation for software over-the-air updates supported by Artificial Intelligence and 5G connectivity. The cooperation addresses the increased need for speed and security in software updates, from production and logistics to after-sales, and enables efficiency increases of up to 25 times.

Aurora Labs was named the Silver Award winner by Merit Awards, an independent awards program that recognizes global industries and markets. The Merit Awards for Automotive and Transportation were judged based on submissions that represent the best in current and next-generation automotive and transportation solutions, innovations and technologies. Congratulations to PAVE and BMW of North America, LLC on their Gold and Bronze awards and to all the winners of the Merit Awards for Automotive and Transportation.
