We hosted parties and bounced between events, met with creatives from around the?world, and popped into phenomenal exhibitions.?Our week also included tasting some of the best whiskies, tequila, and rum that Diageo has to offer on the wonderful Barton and Gray Daychaser yachts.?

As we?approach?our final few days before we close for the holiday season, we want share?our?favorite way of practicing gratitude with the help of our client and friend, Beth Sheeler, founder of Broadlawn Farm. Beth's expert knowledge of Positive Psychology means she has a wonderful outlook on how to make sure next year is a success, so together we're reflecting upon the year that was, with the aim to appreciate the ups and downs that came our way in 2023.?

As we look forward to 2024, we're excited to continue the Alpha Kilo Design Chronicles as a way to share the work we do with our incredible roster of clients, as well as some new projects we have in the pipeline!
Meet Amy Kent- our monthly muse for December!
British rug designer, Amy Kent's story begins in 2005 when she encountered a rug-making family while travelling across India. The inspiration for her work, the family set?Amy on a path that braided together her innate creativity, the?profound respect for traditional techniques and craftsmanship, and an ever increasing passion to create products which bring people joy. A strong artistic gene, combined with the influences drawn from a deep love of nature,?has meant that Amy Kent Rugs has grown into a business that prides itself on being able to deliver high quality and inimitable products time and time again.

Who are your heroes?
Amy Kent:
My pinnacle is the Rug Company, they were the pioneers of the contemporary bespoke rug, and have been a source of inspiration throughout my career.
A-K:
What is your current state of mind?
Amy Kent:
That normal frenetic mix of juggling family and work as you approach a key holiday … but also excitement.?
A-K:
What is your most treasured possesion?
Amy Kent:
My teddy I’ve had since I was 11 (36 years ago), ridiculous but true. I’m a very sentimental person.

What do you most value in your friends?
Amy Kent:
That they know me so well.
A-K:
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Amy Kent:
My business. It’s grown completely organically and finally after 17 years I am now ready to get a mortgage in my own right off the back of it. I feel very proud.

If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?
Amy Kent:
To be more assertive, I’m a constant people pleaser.
A-K:
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Amy Kent:
Just pottering around at home with my family. Pyjama days!

What do you most dislike?
Amy Kent:
People not being able to laugh at themselves, taking things too?seriously.
A-K:
What is your favorite occupation?
Amy Kent:
Running with my dog (lurcher, Bear) through the local wood. It keeps my head straight.
