ALONE

ALONE

Imagine having to go out into the wilderness and survive.

With little to no practical experience.

I’ve been watching that American TV show ALONE over the past few years.

AND...It’s just come out in Australia.

The Premise.

To go out into the wilderness with 10 items and your wits.

Then you have to try to survive.

For how long?

Well, as long as you can last.

People are out there for up to 100 days.

But I wouldn’t say they are thriving.

So many things go wrong, from a simple slip on a rock to not finding

enough food or water to feed themselves.

A fascinating show that talks to the enthusiasm of human nature.

Contestants think they’re going out to build a beautiful log cabin in the woods.

That fish will fall from the sky.

And edible mushrooms will spring up around their feet.

The reality is more like...who can be the last to STARVE!

Now let's apply this to business.

Imagine if you had to go out into the world and start a business and survive.

You probably did right?

You had a dream of building something and here you are.

Surviving.

Most people try it WITHOUT any practical experience.

And, most people try to do it ALONE.

So it’s no wonder entrepreneurs run into trouble.

No one has shown them how to really thrive.

They rarely have someone to guide them at the beginning…

…then think they know it all after 5 years.

Even those that have been running a business for over 10 years are constantly surprised at the things they wish they knew sooner.

…AND... book education simply doesn’t set you up for the realities of running a successful business.

That’s why I like working with teachers who can take me out and show me how things work in the real world.

Practical, hands-on education.

Not just experience, but how to replicate the experience, so I can apply it in my world.

Someone to show me how to feed my business.

Keep it running.

How to make each day EASIER than the one before!

I’m just thankful I took the plunge and got a mentor my second year in business.

I was only earning $80K and it cost me $25K a year at the time.

I thought it was a gamble, but learned it was a MUST for my business.

Not only did I 3X (triple) the income that year.

But it’s been the difference between scrapping through and thriving throughout my business lifespan.

I didn’t just have one, I’ve worked with many over the years.

These mentors have also been the people who’ve helped me avoid slips I was about to take.

Taught me how to fish.

And showed me the best way to thrive in uncertain environments.

Luckily, unlike the TV show, we don’t have to do it all by ourselves.

I get to put my hand up and ask for help.

The mentors I want may not always be available.

But it never hurts to ask.

I don’t have to do it ALONE.
