The Alloy of Life: Just A Thought

I am currently writing a work report while grading my students’ finance papers. This kind of bi-tasking involves frequent trips between the kitchen — where my instant coffee and my kettle reside — and the bedroom where my desk lives (and no, I don’t need an office).
Somewhere on my way back from the kitchen, and while I was thinking about which efficiency financial ratio is more informative, the following thought occurred to me, and I decided to post it here on LinkedIn and call it an Lweet (a LinkedIn tweet ... on account of it being too short to be called an article). Here it is:
Life is not a pure metal. It is an alloy of the gold of love, the iron of perseverance, the silicon of vanity, the palladium of duty, the silver of curiosity, the mercury of temperament, and the tungsten of hope.
Please put what you would change or add to this alloy in the comments.
