Allow me to reintroduce myself...

Allow me to reintroduce myself...

For anyone that knows me and sees this picture, there will be little surprise and possibly a slight feeling of fomo that they were not there to experience my performance at the "House of Blues" in Chicago back in December of 2019.

What I loved about that night is I was in one of my favorite cities, surrounded by good people (shout-out to Upwork ), listening to great music and feeling I could unapologetically be myself. This experience is something I will never forget and only because some talented people put in the work to make sure I wouldn't.

Over the past few months I've had some, let's call it, extra space (a.k.a RIF'd) to reflect on what it would take to create a professional experience for myself that could rival that night in Chicago and here are some things I unlocked that I've found are consistent throughout my life.

  • I go to the same spots every time I visit Chicago
  • My first karaoke song is always "No Diggity"
  • My dance moves do not change because I can do them in my sleep

How this translates:

  • I will repeat, if it has worked before
  • I avoid taking risks (also, you can't argue that song)
  • I go with what is comfortable (mainly due to my fear of injury)

So where did these, obviously deep, reflections lead me?

I'm ready to break free of my established norms, bet on myself, and focus on creating experiences that will be memorable. I plan to do this through coaching, content design & delivery, and consulting as I officially launch (3 years later) my business Refine Talent Development !

This is an "intelligent risk" (credit LinkedIn ) that feels right in so many ways. Come work with me and maybe I'll even share the secret to my dance moves!
