Allergy in a child to parents.
Until the XX century, allergies were extremely rare. Throughout the XX century, the incidence of allergies was gaining momentum and by the beginning of the XXI century it became pandemic. At the same time, unusual casuistic cases, considered rare, also became more frequent.
In 1982, parents with an 8-month-old child came to me. The baby had atopic dermatitis in the acute stage. The child was amimic, extremely lethargic, all edematous, with a bright pink, inflamed skin with rashes.
According to the parents, this was their fifth child. All previous children lived up to such an age as this baby, acquired a similar appearance and died.
To understand what the baby's allergy is objectively caused, it was necessary to pay attention to the condition of the skin of the parents. It was coal-dirty black and riddled with rashes.
In the literature of the 18th century, I found a popular solution to this problem: subsequent children from such families were given immediately after birth to relatives or friends. After 15 years or more, the child returned to his parents.
So, when observing an allergic child, do not forget to examine his parents.
