Not All Your Desires Are Meant to Be Pursued

Not All Your Desires Are Meant to Be Pursued

Dear friend,

A few days ago, I shared with you my reflections from Goa about slowing down, embracing simplicity, and increasing focus on the intersection of self-improvement and self-realization in my work. Today, I would like to delve deeper into a meeting point of these two worlds that have been occupying my thoughts: our relationship with?desires.

As humans,?desires?are an integral part of our lives. Self-improvement, as I mentioned before, revolves around making positive changes that facilitate the fulfilment of our?desires?with greater ease and less friction. On the other hand, self-realization invites us to explore the possibility of finding happiness and freedom independent of whether our?desires?are met or not, ultimately liberating us from attachment to?desires.

The challenge lies in striking a balance between these two perspectives. Letting go of all?desires?and expectations may appear to be a path to inner peace, but it's not always feasible or realistic. Likewise, incessantly pursuing and trying to fulfil all our?desires?often leads to exhaustion and disappointment.

This realization has led me to believe that a crucial aspect of my work will be centred around our relationship with?desires. In essence, it involves helping people find lasting joy by discerning between the?desires?worth pursuing and those that may need to be released.

Now, I would like to encourage you to take some time out for self-reflection. Consider your own relationship with?desires. How do they influence your daily life, your decisions, and your overall well-being? Are there?desires?that bring genuine fulfilment and align with your deeper purpose? Are there others that perhaps burden you and distract you from inner contentment?

This contemplation may not yield immediate answers, but it can be an essential step towards understanding ourselves better and nurturing lasting joy. I believe that by embracing a mindful and purposeful approach to our?desires, we can cultivate a more meaningful and fulfilling life.

As I continue my journey of exploration at the intersection of self-improvement and self-realization, I am grateful for the opportunity to share these thoughts with you. Your support and engagement in these reflections mean a great deal to me.

Feel free to share any insights or experiences that arise during your reflection. Your perspectives are valuable, and I would love to hear your thoughts.

Wishing you a beautiful and introspective time ahead.

With love,

Arjun
