All About You

Starting with the dissent just to clear the basic confusion that might exist- No, I am not a brand ambassador of an apparel brand, I am just here to take note of the conflicting emotions harassing the human mind in a minute by minute basis.

Ever since the birth of a person- there is something that constantly nags the human brain-heart versus the mind. Incidentally, never have they ever concurred. They always seem to be at cold war with each other- much like the portrayal of the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relationship on the television. However, the synchrony of both seems to happen only for one in a million who cross the societal bar which deems the barometer of success. However, others are stuck neck-deep in a quicksand of jeopardy- the questionable ‘what ifs’ and ‘how’s’ haunt them, not allowing to them even flop into a serene slumber.

There are two aspects of life. They can be categorized as – Professional and Personal. An intersection between them can be empowering and deceiving. People who have found a clear demarcation have mastered the ability to keep their emotional reactions at bay when it comes to professional situations in terms of performance and delivery. At the phases of setbacks, they silently try to mask the internal blastoff and work towards with crude determination the professional life commands. So here comes the question. We need a good equilibrium of Emotional Quotient, Intelligence Quotient and Rational Quotient for synergy. However, what happens when the demarcation is present and people have been deemed successful when they have drawn the borders? But is it okay to have an emotional outburst in the professional scenario too? Balance them both? How though? Balance never seems to work with the human community. We always are a tad too late in realizing and by then the train has left the station.

Let us jump into the next ocean of personal life. There is already so much plastic choking the airways. Breathe? Calm Down? Never works. Take sufficient rest but hustle for 100 hours a week? I have heard nothing more conflicting. Take time out for yourself but still show the world what you are? Social networking websites are the most contradicting platforms. Here we are looking to overcome the attitude having one foot in each both, sinking them both trying to seek redemption by mindlessly scrolling motivational quotes only to find ourselves in pathetic mind space. Can I take this job and yet freelance on one side? Can I be a techie who can also be a part-time DJ at a bar? Can I work at a water park and still own a Company? Can I have trade my heart for another brain as I seem to take irrational decisions? But what will happen if we have two brains? Are the decisions going to become feasible? Can we still feel the essence of our dreams? This or that? Which one? Maybe we cannot tolerate options. If all we were doing the same thing, there would not have been any options or conflicts, just a peace-loving society. But options are the fundamental clause of nature. We give options, Nature chooses the best- Natural Selection. The strongest thrive. The weaker sections perish. The choice depends on a cohort of features, skills, and abilities. Apply the same concept to mental conflicts- choose the decision that best suits for the current situation. But is that what the heart wants? Definitely no. It is human tendency to always think of the next step, next voyage, the next confusion, and the next mental war. Wars are gauged in the mind.

This is one of the random thought processes reflecting itself in the form of words- again the work of conflict. We always know that when an event of resonance happens, it is memorable. Be it a catastrophe or something cute. However, when notes picked out from a lottery are made to resonate with each other, we end up with nothing but an absolute blunder. But how do we resonate? Are we musical instruments? The brain grapples with this thought and laughs at the heart, mocking its idea of sync. Maybe we need to teach the brain more than the heart to shut up and listen. Maybe we need to tell the heart to not lose heart and be patient enough to teach the brain. But all these thoughts are given by who? The Heart or the Brain? Wait what is happening? Resolving a conflict leads to conflict? Maybe I need conflict to resolve one. Listen to your sounds carefully. Listen to the chirping in the aura around you. Strike a balance. Perfect. Synchrony between the heart, mind and the environment. We survived. The idea survives. The cosmopolitan idea of Best of all Worlds is met. Project is signed off. But what next? Here we go again!

Vijayalakshmi Swaminathan : An amicable articulation shining on the most valuable aspects of life. Synchronisation between Heart & Mind is really a tough task but that’s the key to a balanced life. This really made my day infusing enough energy to move ahead and de cluttering those unproductive vibes.
