In this short course on YouTube automation, I will walk you through one of the many steps to start making money on YouTube without revealing your face. Many people believe that showing your face is a must for making money on YouTube, but that's not true.

Before we dive into the practical steps, let me emphasize that this course is valuable whether you plan to have a traditional YouTube channel or a faceless one.

There are several key terms and concepts here that you should be familiar with. However, these are some of the most important ones:

  • CPM (Cost Per Thousand): This is a metric that advertisers use to pay for ad placement on your videos.?It refers to the cost that an advertiser pays for one thousand views of their ad.
  • RPM (Revenue Per Mille): This is a metric that measures how much you, as the creator, earn from ad views after YouTube’s cut.?It refers to the revenue that you earn for one thousand views of your video.
  • Click-Through Rate (CTR): This is a metric that measures how often viewers click on your video after seeing it in their search results or on their homepage.?A higher CTR can improve your video’s visibility and ranking on YouTube. To increase your CTR, you can create captivating thumbnails that accurately represent your video’s content.
  • Watch Time: This is a metric that measures the amount of time that viewers spend watching your videos.?It’s an important factor in YouTube’s algorithm, as videos with higher watch times and engagement are more likely to be recommended to other viewers. To improve your watch time and engagement, you can create high-quality videos that are informative, entertaining, and engaging.

Let’s also talk about monetizing your channel. Here are some ways to make money from your YouTube content:

  • Ad Revenue: This is the primary income source through the YouTube Partner Program.?You can earn money from ads that are displayed on your videos.
  • Paid Sponsorships: Brands pay you to feature their products or services in your videos.
  • Affiliate Marketing: You can utilize affiliate links to earn additional income from your videos.
  • Channel Memberships: You can offer exclusive perks to subscribers for a membership fee.
  • Patreon: Patreon is monetization platform where you can build community with your biggest fans and share exclusive work. You can connect with subscribers and receive support for your content.

  • Merchandise Feature: Once your channel hits 10,000 subscribers, you can open YouTube's merchandise feature, creating an additional revenue stream.?A well-managed merch site through your YouTube channel can generate between $4,000 to $20,000 a month.

  • Super Features: Includes Super Chat, Super Stickers, and Super Thanks for live streams.?Super Thanks, one of the favorites, allows viewers to support your channel by donating money through a button under your videos.
  • YouTube Shorts Fund: YouTube's newest introduction, offering an RPM and CPM for shorts.?Shorts may not bring in as much money as regular videos, but they can attract more subscribers to your channel.
  • YouTube Premium: You still get paid when people watch your videos through YouTube Premium, even without ads.
  • YouTube Brand Connect: A recent addition connecting brands with YouTube creators for content campaigns.?Leverage audience trust in creators for product recommendations and partnership opportunities.

As a beginner, focus on creating valuable free content to grow your channel. Later on, consider adding channel memberships or exploring options like Patreon to enhance your monetization strategy.

Once you are through with all these, let's get started. There are several tools that can help you get started with your videos. Here are some of the most popular and easy-to-access ones:

  • Pixabay and Pexels: These websites offer a wide range of free stock footage and images that you can use in your videos without worrying about copyright issues.

  • YouTube Audio Library: This is a great resource for finding free music to use in your videos. You can browse through a variety of genres and moods, and the library is updated regularly.

  • InShot and CapCut: These are two popular video editing apps that you can use to edit your YouTube videos on your phone. InShot is known for its simplicity and ease of use, while CapCut has an auto-captioning feature that can add text to your videos automatically.?

But first things first, we need a logo for our new channel. If you don't have a logo already, you can check out this free website called Zarla to make the logo and profile picture for our faceless Channel. The site is pretty straightforward and will guide you through the process.

Let's get back on track. So if our first video idea is to make a video about "Top Attractions in the United States", we can use Pixabay to find random videos relating to the USA that we are going to use in our YouTube video. You can also use non-copyrighted videos from other sources if you have access to them.

Pick the Pixabay videos that you like and click on Free Download. Next up is the facts we need for our video. You can google "Top Attractions in the United States" to get started.

There are credible blogs like TripAdvisor that have a lot of information on such topics. You can equally download corresponding media from here.

Now upload the downloaded videos to your Inshot Video Editor. Once you've uploaded your videos, arrange them in the order you want them to appear in your YouTube video. You can mix the videos with corresponding photos we got from the TripAdvisor blog or you can just choose one media type.

Next, we're going to cut down the duration of the clips to around 3 or 4 seconds. In the Inshot Video Editor, select split and delete the excess part of each individual file you have uploaded.

We need an intro to our video so slide to the left to be on the first clip and select text in Inshot. Type in the title of the video. e.g "Best Attractions in the USA".

The intro clips with the title should be the random videos with no solid link to the "attraction" contents in your video. Now click on the first clip/ image you wish to present as the first attraction in the USA.

Next, click on the Canvas icon at the bottom and choose the 16:9 ratio for a vertical video suitable for YouTube. You can move the selected image to the right side in the clip leaving space to add texts to the left.

You can add text using the Text icon to include information about each place. In this case, you can use the details from the TripAdvisor blog. Play around with the design to make it visually appealing.

Once you've added all the necessary elements, you can go to the Music icon to add background music. You can use non-copyrighted music from YouTube's Audio Library or other sources.

Adjust the volume to ensure it complements your video. Once you are done, click symbol (?). The InShot logo usually appears in the down right corner of the video, just click on it to remove it for free.

Go to the top right corner, select save, and choose your desired video resolution. Wait until it's complete.

Now, let's move on to the CapCut app. This app has an auto-caption feature, which is helpful for making your videos more accessible. Import the video you created in InShot into CapCut.

Click on the Auto-Subtitle icon, and the app will automatically generate subtitles for your narration. You can edit and customize them as needed. This step is crucial for viewers who prefer or require captions.

After finalizing your video, export it to your device. You're now ready to upload it to YouTube. Now go to Canva and create a visually appealing YouTube thumbnail and customize it based on your video title.

Go back to your YouTube channel, click on the camera icon, and select Upload Video. Choose the video you just created. While it's uploading, you can add a title, description, and tags to optimize your video for search.

For the description, you can use the information from the TripAdvisor blog to provide details about each place. Make sure to include relevant keywords for better visibility.

For the thumbnail, upload the one you created on Canva. Thumbnails play a crucial role in attracting clicks, so make sure it's eye-catching and represents the content well.

Now, regarding monetization, you'll need to join the YouTube Partner Program. To be eligible, your channel must have at least 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 valid public watch hours in the last 12 months. Once you meet these requirements, you can apply for monetization in your YouTube Studio.

Explore additional monetization methods, such as affiliate marketing, as mentioned earlier in the course. Include affiliate links in your description for products or services related to your video content.
