Ok, boomer: Generational differences in employee engagement ????

With employee engagement persisting as this year’s hot topic, Gallup has provided some key insights into engagement levels across the different generations. Baby Boomer workers have seen overall increases in engagement and maintain a positive 'engagement ratio’. But the outlook isn’t so rosy amongst younger workers. Older millennials (born between 1980 and 1988) are a key concern, with less than a third engaged in work, and almost a fifth actively disengaged.???

How to help women on the frontline thrive ????

We know that frontline employees have distinctly different needs to their office-based colleagues, but there’s diversity within that segment of your workforce, too. Recent research from Catalyst and Accenture interviewed dozens of women in frontline roles to discover their needs, challenges, and how businesses can boost their engagement and retention. Their four key suggestions? Invest in women’s health and wellbeing, improve scheduling policies, clarify growth opportunities, and enable managers.??

Why you should invest in frontline leaders ????

A recent article in Forbes makes an excellent point: While your CEO might be the 'face’ of your company for the public, it’s your frontline leaders who hold sway internally. Yet despite their influence, businesses frequently neglect these workers. Making investments into frontline managers will likely pay dividends in a difficult labour market – BCG research has found that great managers are associated with a 13.9x increase in employee satisfaction, and a 3.2x increase in retention.????
